The beauty of the earth is all around us...if you but take a few minutes each day to see it. Now, that a nut like me has taken the time to experience the beauty...I truly am becoming a mighty tree.
Live life...love much, laugh often, and know you are of great individual worth....
I am the seventh child in a family of eleven children born to a man and woman both reared in the rural south and steeped in the culture that can only be gotten in the piney woods of Northwest Florida, some parts of southern Alabama, a little bit of Georgia, and nowhere else. We were raised on grits, greens, fried chicken, potato salad, and a good whippin' if we didn't behave.
I've been told I have lost some of my southern accent, but not many of my southern ways. That is okay....because southern ways...out "ways" other lifestyles that tend to be stuffy and limiting.
Things I have learned:
From my CPA: There are three types of people in the world--those who can count and those who can't.....
From my Ecclesiastical leader: Blessed are they who go around in circles for they shall be known as big wheels.
From my Lawyer: Justice is blind....it's the judges and jurists who can see.
But once you scare the crap out of a judge....there's nothing left but a robe and a gavel.
(Hey, those were his words--not mine.)
From my mother: Don't worry if you are kidnapped in the night...when they get you to the light they will let you go......what a joker my mother was!
From my father: Swimming is easy....once you get out of the bag. Yeah, he was a joker as well.
From The land of Dixie: No matter where you go....there you are.
From Northern carpetbaggers: A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush....but a bucket of fried chicken is better than both.
